Vyatta Gets “Bossy”

“You like me!  You really like me!”
– Sally Fields, accepting her Oscar award (in her own self-congratulating way)

My last post outlined some key data demonstrating Vyatta’s rapid Community-driven market penetration.  Shortly afterward, InfoWorld Magazine announced the winners of their annual BOSSIE Awards and — WHOOMP! there it is — Vyatta received its third-straight BOSSIE.

I love the BOSSIE (which stands for Best Open-Source Software) because it’s the only roundup of open-source solutions I know of that spans many industry categories:  Applications, mobility, storage, networking, etc.  As such it demonstrates the intense breadth and depth of the open-source alternatives to traditional products.  While Vyatta is truly unique in targeting a multi-billion-dollar market dominated by the Cisco IOS with the Vyatta network OS, the fact is there is open-source-based innovation going on in practically every part of the IT stack.

However, not that many companies make it to the BOSSIEs year after year.  To make it three in a row is extremely flattering to the Vyatta team, but the simple fact is this is pulled by the Vyatta Community.  So click the link above, snag the image, and display it proudly.  You earned it 😉
